Taiwan’s sunny central city of museums, parks and night markets, home to the National Taichung Theater, the Gaomei Wetlands and three-Michelin-star JL Studio.
Taichung has the island’s best weather and an easy-going confidence. Toyo Ito’s National Taichung Theater, the Calligraphy Greenway and a lively food scene make it more than a stop between north and south.
It is also the gateway to Sun Moon Lake and the central mountains, a natural overnight on a round-island journey.
