Option 1: Yehliu and Jiufen (6–8 hours)
Yehliu Geopark’s wind-carved rocks are on the north coast; the park opens 08:00–17:00, to 18:00 in summer, and a full ticket is NT$120. Continue to Jiufen for a teahouse above the Pacific and the lantern-lit stairways of Shuqi Road.
On a busy port day, the coast roads and Jiufen’s car parks fill up. A private car with a driver who drops you at the door avoids queues for buses and taxis.
Option 2: Keelung itself (3–4 hours)
- Heping Island Geopark: sea-eroded rocks and a seawater pool. Open 08:00–19:00 from May to October and 08:00–18:00 from November to April.
- Keelung harbour: the city publishes walking leaflets for cruise passengers, including a food route and a harbour photo route.
- Miaokou: the temple-front night market is the heart of Keelung food, best in the evening if your ship leaves late.
Timing and the all-aboard rule
